ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to immediately send two planeloads of relief goods to Gaza and Lebanon, using both land and air routes to ensure timely delivery of aid.
During a meeting to review relief efforts for Palestine and Lebanon, the prime minister urged improved coordination with Pakistan’s ambassadors in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt to streamline the aid supply.
He emphasized the need for quick action to ensure that relief reaches the people suffering from the Israeli attacks.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also appealed to citizens and overseas Pakistanis to contribute generously to the PM Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon (Account No. IBAN). He instructed officials to launch an awareness campaign about the fund.
The briefing revealed that relief supplies, including winter tents, clothes, blankets, medicines, and food, are being sent to the people affected by Israeli bombardment. However, Israeli attacks and blockades are making it difficult for aid to reach Gaza.
The prime minister assured that the government would also support NGOs wishing to send aid to Gaza and Lebanon.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State Shiza Fatima Khawaja, and other senior officials.
