PM Shehbaz Receives Guard of Honour at Azerbaijan’s Presidential Palace

BAKU, Feb 24 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was given a guard of honour on Monday upon his arrival at the Zagulba Presidential Palace, where he is set to hold a bilateral meeting and delegation-level talks with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

President Aliyev warmly received the Pakistani premier at the formal welcome reception. The two leaders stood for the national anthems of both countries before a ceremonial guard of honour was presented by the contingents of Azerbaijan’s armed forces.

Prime Minister Shehbaz, accompanied by a high-level delegation, is on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev. This marks his second visit to the country since taking office in March 2024.

Following the bilateral meeting, the leaders will engage in delegation-level talks focusing on mutual cooperation and areas of shared interest. They will also oversee the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to strengthen bilateral relations.
