PM Shehbaz Sharif, DP World CEO Discuss Investment, Trade Expansion

DUBAI, Feb 11 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem on Tuesday at the World Government Summit in Dubai to discuss bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

The prime minister commended the recent visit of the DP World delegation to Pakistan, which helped strengthen investment collaboration.

He emphasized that such partnerships would enhance trade relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Shehbaz Sharif praised DP World’s contributions to Pakistan’s trade and logistics infrastructure and reaffirmed his commitment to the swift implementation of Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs) with the company.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to streamline investment procedures and improve transparency for global investors.

Recognizing DP World’s strategic role, the prime minister encouraged the company to expand its operations in Pakistan, leveraging its strategic location and the success of projects like Jebel Ali Port.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support and reiterated DP World’s commitment to timely project completion and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

He also announced the establishment of a dedicated exhibition hall in the UAE to promote Pakistani products, which will enhance market access and boost the visibility of Pakistani goods.

Prime Minister Shehbaz welcomed this initiative, underscoring its potential to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
