ISLAMABAD, July 18 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday wished United States President Joe Biden a swift and complete recovery after he tested positive for COVID-19.
“Wishing President Biden swift and complete recovery from COVID. Good wishes,” the prime minister wrote on his X timeline.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that President Biden tested positive for COVID-19 after attending an event in Las Vegas. He was there for a crucial election campaign event ahead of the presidential poll in November.
President Biden, who is vaccinated and boosted, is experiencing mild symptoms. He will self-isolate but continue to carry out all his duties, Jean-Pierre added.
“His symptoms remain mild, his respiratory rate is normal at 16, his temperature is 97.8, and his pulse oximetry is 97%. The President has received his first dose of Paxlovid and will be self-isolating at his home in Rehoboth,” according to a note from President Biden’s doctor issued by the White House.
