President Zardari Extends Chinese New Year Greetings to Xi Jinping

ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday extended greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the Chinese New Year and Spring Festival, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the “iron-clad friendship” between the two nations.

In a letter to his Chinese counterpart, President Zardari expressed his desire to further enhance bilateral cooperation and friendship during his upcoming visit to Beijing. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for the One China Policy, highlighting its significance in Pakistan’s foreign policy.

The president emphasized the strong and strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China, nurtured by the leadership of both nations over the years. He acknowledged President Xi’s visionary role in strengthening Pakistan-China relations and advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

President Zardari also commended China’s remarkable progress in various sectors and wished President Xi good health, expressing hope for continued prosperity for the Chinese people.

Chinese New Year, or the Spring Festival, beginning January 29 this year, marks the start of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar, symbolizing the transition from winter to spring.
