ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral ties with Turkmenistan across all areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its relationship with Turkmenistan.
During a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Zardari highlighted the common vision for peace and prosperity shared by both nations. He noted that the exchange of high-level visits between the countries signifies a mutual desire to strengthen bilateral understanding and cooperation.

- Connectivity and Trade: President Zardari stressed enhancing connectivity and communication between Pakistan and Turkmenistan. He pointed out that Gwadar port offers significant opportunities for regional trade, encouraging Turkmenistan to benefit from it.
- Bilateral Cooperation: The President emphasized the need for continued exchanges and dialogue at all levels, as well as enhancing trade, economic, investment, and cultural relations for mutual prosperity. He also invited Turkmen students to pursue education in Pakistani medical institutions.
- Infrastructure Development: Foreign Minister Meredov highlighted the importance of constructing motorways and railways through Afghanistan to connect Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
