ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep concerns over escalating Israeli aggression in the Middle East and called for urgent international action to restore peace.
Speaking at the All Parties Conference, organized by the government to mark one year of Israeli attacks on Palestine, Zardari condemned the killing of over 41,800 Palestinians and the destruction of infrastructure in Gaza.
The conference was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and other prominent political leaders.
President Zardari criticized Israel’s expansion of attacks to Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, endangering regional stability.
He lamented the international community’s failure to prevent Israeli war crimes and genocide against Palestinians and called for swift de-escalation of tensions to avoid further loss of life.
Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, Zardari emphasized the need for a two-state solution with an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds as its capital.
He urged the UN Security Council to enforce the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Arab territories, restore the rights of Palestinians, and ensure peace in the region.
