ISLAMABAD, Dec 5 (Alliance News): The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is set to host a conference on Sustainable Mountain Tourism on December 11 at the PNCA to commemorate International Mountain Day.
The event will bring together key stakeholders from the tourism industry to discuss strategies for promoting sustainable practices in Pakistan’s mountainous regions.

In addition to the conference, PTDC has announced a photographic competition to mark International Mountain Day.
This competition aims to engage the youth, inspire creativity, and raise awareness about the significance of mountains in fostering a sustainable future.
Submissions from amateur and professional photographers have showcased the beauty and culture of mountainous regions while reflecting the spirit of sustainability. The top entries will be exhibited at the PNCA on December 11.
The competition features two categories: amateur and professional. The amateur category awards prizes of Rs. 30,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000 for first, second, and third place, respectively. For professionals, the first, second, and third prizes are Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000, and Rs. 20,000.
This year, International Mountain Day will be celebrated under the theme, “Mountain Solutions for a Sustainable Future—Innovation, Adaptation, and Youth,” emphasizing the importance of preserving mountainous landscapes and promoting sustainable development.
