PTI Protestors Used Modern Weapons, Claims Minister Tarar

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (Alliance News): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protestors of using modern firearms during their demonstrations, resulting in the deaths of Rangers and police personnel and injuries to several others.

Addressing the media, Tarar presented video footage allegedly showing PTI workers using tear gas guns, shells, and other advanced weapons.

He questioned how such arms, unavailable in the open market, were procured and suggested that funds from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) might have been used.

“Are protestors permitted to bring weapons to a peaceful demonstration?” Tarar asked, criticizing human rights defenders for overlooking the violence. He emphasized that law enforcement agencies had refrained from firing on protestors and dismissed PTI’s claims of victimhood as a social media narrative.

The minister vowed strict legal action against individuals involved in violent activities, reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards those taking the law into their own hands.
