ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (Alliance News): Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday emphasized the essential role of parliamentarians in promoting global peace, democracy, and justice.
Addressing attendees of the 45th meeting of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) in Pakistan, Gilani commended the organization’s four decades of advocacy for human rights, international justice, and sustainable peace.
He praised PGA’s influence on global policy, highlighting how it fosters justice and equality at grassroots levels. With over 1,300 parliamentarians from 140 countries, the PGA serves as a unified front in strengthening democracy and promoting international cooperation.
Gilani affirmed Pakistan’s alignment with PGA values, especially on issues like climate change, governance, and conflict resolution, recognizing the vital contributions of leaders like Naveed Qamar in addressing global challenges.
