ISLAMABAD, Sept 23 (Alliance News): Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a heartfelt letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his birthday, reaffirming his commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between China and Pakistan.
In his congratulatory message, Xi expressed the importance of strengthening their relationship, stating, “I want to work with you to increase Pak-China strategic cooperation.” This letter comes at a time when Islamabad and Beijing are collaborating across multiple sectors, particularly through projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
China has been a crucial defense partner for Pakistan, offering vital support during its economic challenges. Recently, RUYI Shangdong, a Chinese investment company, signed a memorandum of understanding to establish textile parks in Pakistan, inviting around 100 Chinese textile firms to invest.
These parks are projected to generate $2 billion in exports in the first phase and $5 billion in the second, creating between 300,000 and 500,000 local jobs.
Recalling the deep-rooted history of their relationship, President Xi noted that the Pak-China bond has remained resilient despite shifting international dynamics.
He emphasized mutual trust and support, highlighting the strategic partnership that has flourished over the years.
In his letter, Xi referenced PM Shehbaz’s successful visit to China in June, which resulted in various agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation.
He extended his wishes for the prime minister’s health and success, expressing a desire to collaborate for a shared future and further deepen ties between their nations.
