ADELAIDE, Nov 8 (Alliance News): Pakistan secured an impressive 9-wicket victory over Australia in the second ODI of the three-match series at Adelaide Oval.
Captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and chose to field, which proved effective as Australia struggled to build momentum.
Australia’s innings started with openers Jack Fraser and Matthew Short, both dismissed early by Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Despite a brief recovery led by Steve Smith’s 35 runs, the Australian team struggled, with Haris Rauf claiming 5 wickets and Shaheen taking 3, limiting Australia to a modest total.
In response, Pakistan’s openers Abdullah Shafiq and Saeem Ayub provided a strong start. Saeem’s explosive 82, featuring 6 sixes and 5 fours, led Pakistan to chase down the target comfortably, reaching 140 for 1 in just 22 overs.
