Pakistan and China Reaffirm Commitment to Deepen Cooperation, Address Regional and Global Challenges

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (Alliance News): Pakistan and China have agreed to further enhance cooperation in various fields and accelerate efforts to build a closer Pakistan-China community for the future.

In a joint statement released by the Foreign Office, both nations underscored the strategic significance of their relationship amid global changes and reaffirmed their commitment to defending mutual interests.

The two sides expressed concerns over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian assistance. Both countries reiterated their support for the Palestinian right to self-determination and condemned recent Israeli aggression in Lebanon.

The joint statement highlighted the commitment to advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), including projects such as Gwadar Port development and the upgrade of the Karachi-Hyderabad section of ML-1.

The two countries also pledged to strengthen economic, defense, and industrial cooperation, particularly in mining, agriculture, and energy.

The Chinese side reiterated its support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and stability, while both sides reaffirmed their zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

They condemned recent terrorist attacks targeting Chinese personnel in Pakistan and pledged to enhance security measures for Chinese projects.

The two nations also agreed to maintain high-level military cooperation, uphold the international order based on the U.N. Charter, and encourage a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant U.N. resolutions.
