ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (Alliance News) – Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, emphasized the transformative power of creative education in driving economic growth and societal progress at the inauguration of the Karachi Chapter of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) held at the historic Mohatta Palace Museum.
This new chapter aims to foster skill development in fashion and design, supporting Pakistan’s future in trade, fashion, and creativity, according to a press release from Karachi.
Speaking at the event, PIFD Vice Chancellor Prof. Hina Tayyaba Khalil highlighted the institute’s role in nurturing design talent and contributing to Pakistan’s cultural and economic progress.
The Karachi Chapter’s establishment was made possible by Dr. Siddiqui’s commitment to skill development and the collaborative efforts of Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Federal Secretary of Education and Professional Training.
This milestone event was attended by Governor Sindh, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, and other notable figures.
The PIFD Karachi Chapter will provide students with industry-aligned skills and aims to become a creative hub for Karachi’s budding talent in fashion and design.
