ASHGABAT, Oct 10 (Alliance News):President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Ashgabat on Thursday for a two-day official visit to Turkmenistan.
Upon his arrival at Ashgabat Airport, he was warmly received by Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Batyr Amanov, who welcomed him with traditional bread and flowers.
President Zardari is scheduled to address the International Forum titled “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development,” which is being held to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of the renowned Turkmen thinker and poet, Magtymguly Faragi.
The forum is taking place from October 10-11.
In addition to his participation in the forum, President Zardari is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Turkmen leadership to discuss matters of mutual interest.
