ISLAMABAD, July 11 (Alliance News): President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan was given a guard of honour upon his arrival at the PM House on Thursday to meet Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. President Aliyev is on a two-day official visit to Pakistan, accompanied by a delegation of ministers and business leaders.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally welcomed President Aliyev at the formal welcome ceremony. The national anthems of both Pakistan and Azerbaijan were played as President Aliyev and Prime Minister Sharif stood together on the salute dais.
A well-dressed contingent of the armed forces presented a guard of honour to the Azerbaijani President, marking the start of his visit. The event highlighted the close ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan and set the tone for the discussions and meetings scheduled during President Aliyev’s stay in Islamabad.
