Sheikh Zohaib Rafiq Sethi, senior vice president of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that Sialkot-based football “Al-Rahila” was used in the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches in Qatar.

Sheikh Zohaib Rafiq Sethi said that Sialkot’s leading company Forward Sports has developed Al-Rahla football for Adidas which will be officially used in FIFA Football World Cup and it is a great honor and pride for Pakistan including Sialkot. Is.

He said that this is not the first time that football produced in Sialkot is being used in the World Cup but this is the third time that the brand of Forward Sports will be used in FIFA World Cup.

He said that Al-Rahila hair has been designed according to the culture of Qatar, the material used in its manufacture is bio-based recycling material and its preparation has been made using environmentally friendly water based chemicals.

Sheikh Zohaib Sethi said that this ball consists of 20 panels and it has been declared as one of the best football in the world. Giving details, he said that earlier footballs were traditionally hand-sewn but a new technology thermos bonding was first introduced in the 2014 World Cup.

He said that Sialkot is an important city in terms of domestic exports and is also famous for manufacturing sports equipment including volleyball, hockey sticks, cricket bats and sportswear.

It should be noted that the Football World Cup in Qatar will start in November this year and the first match will be played on November 21 at the Sarmiyan Al Bayt Stadium in host Qatar and Ecuador.

The 32 teams participating in the World Cup are divided into 8 groups. All the 4 teams in the group will play one-on-one matches. The quarter-finals will start on December 9 and on December 13 and 14. Semi-finals will be played.

The World Cup final will be played on December 18 at Lucille Stadium.
