Iran: 69 people died, 39 were injured due to flood

ISLAMABAD, Aug 03 (Alliance News): At least 69 people died and 39 were injured due to floods caused by heavy rains in Iran, while 45 people are missing.

According to Iranian Media,  the deputy head of the Iran National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO) Nijad Jahani said that 69 people died and 39 were injured due to floods caused by heavy rains in Iran for a week. done while 45 citizens are missing.

He said that 6 of the dead, 3 of the injured and 3 of the missing people belong to Iraq, while he also expressed the fear of further increase in deaths.

Iranian Red Crescent Society President Pir Hussain said that relief operations are ongoing in 661 areas of 24 provinces.

He said that the focus has been on Ferozkoh County of Tehran Province, where roads closed due to flooding have been reopened.

Mansoor, director general of Isfahan organization management, said that the flood has caused 28.12 million dollars in damage in 18 counties of Isfahan province.

He said that 4 thousand hectares of agricultural land, 50 hectares of orchards, 30 cattle rearing units and 10 fish farming units have been affected in the province.

He said that 98 kilometers of roads and 61 buildings and bridges have also been damaged due to heavy rains in the province.
