Karachi Test: Usman Khawaja’s brilliant innings of 160, Australia 505 runs for 8 wickets

ISLAMABAD, Mar 13 (Alliance News): In the Karachi Test against Pakistan, Australia scored 505 runs for the loss of 8 wickets by the end of the second day of play.

For Australia, Usman Khawaja played a brilliant innings of 160 runs while Alex Carey scored 93 and Smith 72. For Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf took two wickets for 55 runs.

By the end of the second day of the second Test between Pakistan and Australia, the visitors had scored 505 runs for the loss of 8 wickets while Mitchell Starc was unbeaten on 28 and Cummins was batting with him.

By the end of the second day’s play, Mitchell Starc was on 28 and Pat Cummins was on the wicket without scoring a run.

Australia started the second day’s play with 215 for 3 in their first incomplete innings while Usman Khawaja was batting at 127 and Nathan Lyon at zero.

Both the batsmen put their team ahead but Nathan Lyon scored 38 runs off 304 balls and was bowled by Faheem Ashraf.

The next Australian to be dismissed was Travis Head, who was dismissed for 23. He was dismissed by Sajid Khan.

Usman Khawaja was bowled by Sajid Khan after a brilliant 160-run innings. With a memorable 160-run innings in Karachi where he has a family connection, he became the first Pakistani to score a century after Mark Waugh’s 117. Became an Australian player.

Cameron Green was bowled by Noman Ali for an individual score of 28.

Alex Carey played an innings of 93 runs and was bowled by Babar Azam.

For Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf and Sajid Khan took two wickets each while Noman Ali, Hassan Ali and Babar Azam took one wicket each.

The first day of the second Test match against Pakistan was in the name of Australia and thanks to the century of Usman Khawaja the visiting team scored 251 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

In the second Test match of the series being played at the National Stadium in Karachi, Australia captain Pat Cummins decided to bat after winning the toss.

Earlier in the toss, Australia captain Pat Cummins had said that it looks like a good wicket and we will try to score big, we have included Mitchell Swapson in our team.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam had said that this is the traditional wicket of Karachi which will help the spinners later.

Two changes were made in the Pakistan team for the match and Faheem Ashraf and Hassan Ali were made part of the final XI in place of Iftikhar Ahmed and Naseem Shah.

 

It should be noted that the first Test match of the series played between the two teams in Rawalpindi was drawn.
