TEHRAN, May 9 (Alliance News): Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref on Wednesday reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to strengthening ties with Tajikistan, calling the two nations “brotherly countries” with shared history, language, and culture.

In a meeting with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma, held in Tehran, Aref said, “Iran is your second home, and Tajikistan is our second home,” underscoring the deep-rooted bonds between the two countries.

Aref noted that no obstacles exist in expanding bilateral relations and that both sides possess strong political will to enhance cooperation. He emphasized the importance of leveraging shared civilizational values and cultural ties to boost mutual understanding and collaboration.

He also stressed that the two economies could complement each other, particularly in the fields of energy and water management. Praising the regular convening of the joint commission between the two countries, he urged the timely implementation of agreements already signed.
