ISLAMABAD, May 9 (Alliance News): Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker held her second meeting in 48 hours with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss rising Pak-India border tensions, including India’s recent drone strikes.
According to official sources, Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the US envoy on the evolving situation along the borders and strongly condemned India’s use of drones to target civilian areas.
He said India had violated all international laws and was solely responsible for the region’s growing instability.
“India made a nefarious attempt to target civilian populations with drones. Pakistan acted swiftly and shot down dozens of drones,” Naqvi said during the meeting.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s security is non-negotiable and reiterated the government’s resolve to defend national sovereignty.
The meeting also included discussions on broader border security and regional peace. US Political Counselor Zack Harken-Rider and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were present during the talks.
It is worth noting that this was the second high-level contact between the US Embassy and Pakistan’s Interior Ministry in less than two days, highlighting international concern over escalating hostilities in South Asia.
