ISLAMABAD, Jan 06 ( Alliance News): Pakistan Poultry Association Central Chairman Dr Sajjad Arshad has said that additional taxes imposed on poultry industry in the mini-budget would have a negative impact on the overall economy of the country and the consumers of eggs and poultry.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at National Club Islamabad here on Thursday.
He demanded of the government and requested the Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen should immediately suspend the additional taxes imposed in the budget due to its negative impact on the public interest and overall national economy and a working group should be formed in the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, which includes Pakistan Poultry Association.
He said that the sales tax on poultry machinery has been increased from 7% to 17%, adding vitamins, minerals, amino acids and more. The sales tax on phosphates has been increased from 10% to 17%.
If the taxes are considered, these additional taxes will have a negative impact on the overall economic output of Pakistan and the individual purchasing power of poultry users.
