PCB is not making payments as per the agreement,” Faulkner said

ISLAMABAD, Feb 19 ( Alliance News): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has strongly denied the allegations made by Australian fast bowler James Faulkner, who is part of Quetta Gladiators, said that all payments have been made as per the PSL agreements.

A statement issued by the PCB said that James Faulkner had made baseless allegations regarding non-payment during PSL 2022.

“The PCB and the Quetta Gladiators were disappointed with the reprehensible behavior of James Faulkner, who was also part of the Abu Dhabi stage of the PSL 2021, where he was treated with respect along with all the other members who participated,” the statement said.

“In the 7-year history of the PSL, no player has ever complained of non-payment. On the contrary, all the players have always appreciated the efforts of the PCB and most of them,” the PCB said. Has been a part of PSL since 2016.

Responding to James Falkner’s allegations, he said: “In December 2021, James Falkner’s agent verified his UK bank account for payment, which was noted.

The board said that in January 2022, James Faulkner’s agent shared details of an offshore account in Australia, but 70% of James Faulkner’s payments were transferred to his offshore account in the UK, and James Faulkner made the transfer. Confirmed.

Regarding the payments, it was stated that “all the payments have been made to them as per the agreement. The remaining 30% of the payments were to be made within 40 days of the end of PSL 2022, however, it will be reviewed now.”

According to the statement, despite the money being transferred to the UK account, James Falkner insisted that all the money be sent back to Australia’s on-shore account, which meant he would be paid twice.

He further added that he had threatened not to participate in the match against Multan Sultans on Friday if he did not transfer the money. Despite the abusive behavior, Falkner was assured that all his grievances would be addressed.

“Falconer refused to reconsider his decision to return to the field to play a crucial match for his team and immediately arranged for his travel arrangements,” he said.

The PCB said that during this time, the PCB was in constant contact with their agents, who were remorseful and apologetic.

Regarding James Faulkner’s behavior, the PCB said that “James Faulkner deliberately damaged the hotel property on the Saturday before his departure and as a result he had to compensate the hotel.”

The board said the PCB had since received complaints from immigration officials about James Faulkner’s behavior, where he had been harassing him.

The PCB said: “In this context, the PCB has taken serious note of James Falkner’s serious misconduct and has made a unanimous decision with the franchisees to send James Falkner to a draft at a future PSL event. Will not be included.

Earlier, James Faulkner had announced his early departure from the league, accusing the PCB of failing to make payments under the agreement.

In a statement released on Twitter, James Faulkner said, “I left PSL because the PCB was not paying for the agreement with me.”

“I’ve been here all along and he (the PCB) has been lying to me all the time,” Falkner said.

He said that the treatment meted out by PCB and PSL was disrespectful.
