WASHINGTON, Oct 15 (Alliance News): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, met with Texas leaders, business community members, and the Pakistani diaspora in Dallas and Houston as part of efforts to strengthen Pak-US relations.
His 3-day visit focused on boosting partnerships in key sectors, including IT, agriculture, textiles, and sports, according to an embassy press release.
Ambassador Sheikh began his visit by meeting Texas Governor Greg Abbott, discussing trade and economic opportunities in Texas, which is the world’s 8th largest economy.
He emphasized the potential for a strong Pakistan-Texas partnership, particularly in business and technology sectors.
In Houston, the Ambassador inaugurated the Pakistan Literature Festival, highlighting the importance of art, culture, and public diplomacy in fostering stronger ties between Pakistan and the U.S. He also met with the Ismaili community leadership and participated in a send-off ceremony for medical supplies destined for Pakistan.
In Dallas, Ambassador Sheikh discussed bilateral relations and defense cooperation with Congressman Lance Carter Gooden and met with the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce-USA to explore investment opportunities.
He praised the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in enhancing Pak-US relations and their efforts to project a positive image of Pakistan in the U.S. He assured them of continued support from the Embassy and Consulate.
