ISTANBUL, Jun 20 (Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Istanbul to represent Pakistan at the two-day meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.
He was received at the Istanbul airport by Pakistan’s Consul General Fawad Sher and Senior Diplomatic Officer Junaid Yousuf.
The OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is set to begin tomorrow, focusing on major challenges confronting the Muslim world.
A special session will be dedicated to addressing Israeli aggression against Iran, during which member states are expected to deliberate on formulating a unified response.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will deliver the keynote address at the opening session, while Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan is also scheduled to participate and share his perspective on the regional crisis.
On the sidelines of the main sessions, the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir will convene a separate meeting on Sunday to review the situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir and reaffirm support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
