ISLAMABAD, June 19 (Alliance News): A seminar titled “The Emerging Role of Artificial Intelligence” was held at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), drawing the attention of students, scholars, and technology experts eager to explore the fast-growing impact of AI across various sectors.

Organized by the Department of Computer Science in collaboration with the University’s Research Society, the seminar focused on the transformative potential of AI in education, healthcare, media, governance, and defense.

Keynote speakers from academia and industry shared insights on how AI is reshaping the future of work and decision-making in both public and private sectors.

Dr. Ayesha Siddiqui, Head of the Computer Science Department, welcomed the participants and emphasized the need for ethical and responsible use of AI technologies.

“While AI offers immense opportunities, it also demands caution, regulation, and thoughtful integration into our systems,” she said.

Guest speaker Dr. Asim Khurshid, a renowned AI researcher, discussed the impact of machine learning and data-driven systems in daily life.

“AI is no longer futuristic; it’s here, and it’s changing the way we interact, work, and think. Pakistan must prepare its youth to lead this revolution,” he remarked.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, encouraging critical dialogue on the role of AI in shaping national development and global competitiveness.

The event was part of QAU’s ongoing initiative to engage students in emerging technologies and foster innovation in line with global trends.
