ISLAMABAD, June 30 (Alliance News): Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Raza Amiri Moghaddam, on Monday praised Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic and moral support during the recent regional escalation, saying Islamabad played the most significant role among all brotherly nations in standing with Iran.

Speaking to a private news channel, Ambassador Amiri expressed deep gratitude to the government, people, and media of Pakistan for their steadfast backing during the crisis.

“Pakistan’s support at international forums, including the United Nations Security Council and the IAEA Board of Governors, was resolute,” he said.

He added that both Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence extended full cooperation to Iran. “This solidarity was unmatched, and the Iranian people deeply respect Pakistan’s principled stance,” the ambassador noted.

In contrast, the envoy criticized India for not supporting Iran during the escalation. “India chose silence, aligning more closely with U.S. policies and its strategic relationship with Israel,” he stated.

Dr. Amiri also appreciated the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for what he called a stronger-than-usual condemnation of Israeli aggression, adding that the Arab League and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) also demonstrated clear support for Iran’s position. “Their collective stance showed much-needed unity in the Muslim world,” he said.

Addressing the roots of the conflict, Ambassador Amiri insisted that Iran’s response was purely defensive. “The aggression began with Israeli provocations. A ceasefire is conditional upon their conduct. They suffered losses that may deter further action — but if they feel emboldened again, they might reignite the conflict,” he warned.

The ambassador thanked global allies — particularly China, Russia, Pakistan, Algeria, and Türkiye — for standing by Iran at international forums.

He emphasized the need for greater unity in the Muslim world to resist Western pressure and to support oppressed Muslims, especially in Gaza and Palestine.

“Unity is essential,” he stressed. “Empty slogans are not enough. We need practical action to support our brothers and sisters suffering under occupation.”

Referring to broader geopolitical tensions, Dr. Amiri said, “This was not a war of our choosing — it was imposed. U.S. and Israeli leadership have openly spoken about regime change in Iran. What matters now is how the world views this aggression and Iran’s right to defend its sovereignty.”

He concluded by reaffirming that Iran remains committed to peace, but not at the expense of its sovereignty and dignity.
