ISLAMABAD, Jul 4 (Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday held separate meetings with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on the sidelines of the 17th ECO Summit in Khankendi and Shusha, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.
In his meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, DPM Dar congratulated the Azerbaijani leadership for successfully hosting the ECO Summit and praised its active engagement within the regional bloc.
He noted that recent high-level exchanges had further solidified bilateral ties, and both sides agreed to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
In another meeting with Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, held in Shusha, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to advancing Pakistan–Turkmenistan relations. Both leaders reviewed progress in key areas, particularly energy, trade, and regional connectivity.
They also exchanged views on pressing regional and global issues and reaffirmed their joint resolve to promote regional peace and security.
DPM Dar also expressed his gratitude to Turkmenistan for facilitating the evacuation of Pakistani citizens from Iran during the recent regional crisis.
