Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Marilina Armellin, in her welcome remarks, expressed gratitude to all guests for joining the celebration. She highlighted the historical depth and shared values that have defined Italy-Pakistan relations for over seven decades.

“Italy and Pakistan enjoy a dynamic and friendly relationship rooted in mutual respect, cultural exchange, and economic collaboration. Today’s celebration reflects our continued commitment to work together for a peaceful, sustainable, and prosperous future,” the ambassador stated.

Ambassador Armellin also praised the growing contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Italy, describing them as a bridge of understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

She noted that with over 200,000 Pakistanis residing in Italy, people-to-people ties are becoming an increasingly strong pillar of the bilateral relationship.

The event also acknowledged the significant presence of Italian companies in Pakistan and their investment in various sectors including construction, textile machinery, fashion, agriculture, and renewable energy.

These ventures have contributed not only to Pakistan’s economy but also to knowledge transfer and employment creation.

Federal Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, was among the prominent personalities in attendance. While she did not deliver a formal speech, her presence symbolized the growing cooperation in the digital and innovation sector, which both governments view as a strategic area for future growth.

Decorations at the venue echoed Italian heritage—featuring national flags, traditional floral arrangements in the colors of the Italian tricolore, and a display highlighting Italy’s achievements in art, design, and science.

These symbolic elements served to remind guests of Italy’s global identity as a cradle of culture, innovation, and diplomacy.

The guests deeply appreciated the hospitality extended by the Italian Embassy. The event not only celebrated a national occasion but also reaffirmed the depth of Italy-Pakistan relations built over years of mutual understanding and shared aspirations.
