ISLAMABAD, Jun 24 (Alliance News): Pakistan on Tuesday voiced deep concern over the escalating security situation in the region following recent attacks on the United States’ Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
The Foreign Office condemned the incident, warning that such actions undermine the principles of sovereignty and threaten regional stability.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office said, “We strongly condemn the recent violations of the principle of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.”
The spokesperson emphasized that the use of force must not override international norms and called upon all parties involved to refrain from further provocation.
The statement underscored the need for adherence to fundamental principles of international law and highlighted Pakistan’s consistent stance against aggression in all forms.
“We urge adherence to fundamental principles of international law and call for exercise of restraint by all sides,” the statement added.
As tensions escalate in the Middle East, Pakistan reiterated its call for diplomacy and dialogue as the only viable path to peace.
“We urge all sides to take immediate steps for de-escalation,” the spokesperson said, noting that further escalation could have far-reaching consequences for regional peace and global stability.
The Al Udeid Air Base, one of the largest US military installations in the Gulf, has previously served as a key operational hub for US and allied forces. Any attack on such a facility is seen as a serious development, triggering concerns across the international community.
Pakistan’s latest call for restraint comes amid a series of flashpoints in the broader Middle East region, including heightened tensions involving Iran, Israel, and other actors.
Islamabad’s measured response signals its commitment to promoting peace through diplomatic channels.
