Dar Condemns Israeli Aggression Against Iran, Urges Accountability at OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

ISLAMABAD, June 22(Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression against Iran and called for holding Tel Aviv accountable for its “unjustified and illegitimate actions,” during the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Istanbul on Sunday.

In a statement at the OIC gathering, the DPM/FM reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with the Iranian people and expressed deep condolences over the loss of civilian lives in Israeli strikes.

“We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Iran,” Dar said, noting that the strikes targeted civilian areas and violated Iran’s sovereignty.

He highlighted that the Israeli assault occurred amid ongoing inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), thereby breaching international law and IAEA protocols.

“This attack on safeguarded nuclear facilities sets a dangerous precedent and threatens not only regional but global security,” Dar warned.

Calling attention to double standards in global responses, Dar decried the silence over Israeli aggression. “No one speaks of international law, rules-based order, or consequences when it comes to Israel. This impunity must end,” he emphasized.

Dar further stated that Israeli actions are not isolated but part of a broader pattern of militarism across the Middle East. “This aggression poses a grave risk to regional and international peace,” he added.

As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Pakistan had supported Iran’s request to convene an urgent UNSC session to address the matter. However, Dar expressed disappointment that the Council remains paralyzed. “Unfortunately, the Council has failed to act,” he said.

He noted that Pakistan is also backing diplomatic initiatives within the IAEA, SCO, and among Islamic nations to push for an end to Israeli hostility and support Iran’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Dar stressed that the nuclear issue with Iran must be resolved peacefully through diplomacy and sustained dialogue. Concluding his remarks, he expressed confidence that the OIC meeting would send a strong and unified message in support of Iran and against Israeli aggression.
