ISLAMABAD, Jul 7 (Alliance News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah and commended the collective efforts of Pakistan’s security forces and institutions for maintaining peace and order during Ashura across the country.
In an official statement, Naqvi lauded the “exemplary coordination” between law enforcement agencies, including the Army, Rangers, Police, and civil administration, which ensured the safe conclusion of Ashura processions and majalis in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
“All processions and gatherings ended peacefully, without any incident,” Naqvi said. “I wholeheartedly thank every soldier, officer, and official who performed their duty with dedication and professionalism.”
The minister also acknowledged the constructive role played by religious scholars in promoting sectarian harmony and interfaith unity during the sacred month of Muharram.
Highlighting the success of the security strategy, Naqvi noted that a comprehensive plan was in effect from the 1st to the 10th of Muharram.
He credited the seamless coordination between ground-level personnel and leadership for the peaceful observance of Ashura.
“We bow our heads in gratitude before Allah Almighty for His blessings and for the unity demonstrated by our forces and citizens,” he added.
