ISLAMABAD, Dec 1 (Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday received Canadian High Commissioner Tarik Ali Khan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
Dar appreciated the positive momentum in Pakistan–Canada relations, noting the ongoing high-level engagement between the two countries. He emphasized the need to further strengthen collaboration in trade, investment, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges to unlock new avenues of partnership.
The deputy prime minister also highlighted the valuable role of the Pakistani diaspora in Canada, acknowledging their contribution to fostering stronger ties.
The Canadian high commissioner expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support in facilitating the import of Canadian canola.
He also noted steady progress on the Reko Diq project by Barrick Gold and conveyed the interest of other Canadian companies in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan.
