ISLAMABAD, August 4 (Alliance News) – In a forward-looking move to strengthen judicial infrastructure in Pakistan’s largest city, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, along with Justice Junaid Ghaffar, Justice Zafar Rajput, and Justice Iqbal Kalhoro, convened a high-level meeting with the District and Sessions Judges of Karachi Division at the Sindh High Court on Monday.
During the meeting, the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court briefed the delegation on the proposed construction of a state-of-the-art Judicial Complex in Karachi, comprising 125 fully equipped courtrooms with comprehensive amenities.
The project aims to meet the escalating demands of the justice system in Karachi and is expected to launch soon.
Welcoming the initiative, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi emphasized the critical importance of sustainable, scalable, and future-ready infrastructure.
He advocated for integrating future forecasting and participatory design, recommending structured consultations with judges, district bar members, and other stakeholders to develop a refined and technically sound proposal for government approval.
Highlighting the ongoing digital transformation in Pakistan’s justice sector, the Chief Justice underscored the need for citizen-centric planning.
He recommended the inclusion of a modern Facilitation Centre within the complex to improve access to information and services for litigants, lawyers, and the general public.
The visit and consultation mark a significant step in the judiciary’s commitment to institutional development, transparency, and the delivery of accessible and efficient justice across Pakistan.
