Dar, Thai FM Agree to Deepen Ties in Trade, Tourism, and Regional Connectivity

ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (Alliance News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Thailand’s Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa on Wednesday, on the sidelines of high-level events marking Pakistan’s Presidency of the United Nations Security Council.

During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the growing momentum in bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as cultural and parliamentary exchanges, people-to-people contacts, trade, and tourism, according to a press release from the DPM’s Office.

They agreed to expand cooperation in key sectors including food security, fisheries, defense, and regional connectivity. The discussion also covered collaboration in multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations.

Foreign Minister Maris congratulated Pakistan on assuming the Presidency of the UN Security Council and praised its positive contributions to the Council’s work.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening ties and enhancing diplomatic cooperation at regional and international levels.
