Interior Minister Naqvi Denounces ‘Orchestrated Campaign’ Against Leadership

ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (Alliance News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned what he described as a “malicious and orchestrated campaign” aimed at maligning Pakistan’s top civilian and military leadership.

In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Naqvi dismissed recent rumors circulating online that suggested internal tensions between the country’s top offices, clarifying that there is “no discussion—nor does any such idea exist—regarding the President being asked to resign or the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) seeking to assume the presidency.”

He asserted that the disinformation drive targeting President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and COAS General Asim Munir is part of a calculated attempt to create instability in the country. Naqvi said the government is fully aware of the individuals and groups behind the campaign.

Highlighting the close cooperation between the civilian and military leadership, Naqvi said President Zardari enjoys a “strong and respectful relationship with the Armed Forces.”

He further quoted the president as saying, “I know who is spreading these falsehoods, why they are doing so, and who stands to benefit from this propaganda.”

The minister emphasized that the Chief of Army Staff remains focused solely on ensuring national stability, stating clearly: “Nothing else is on his agenda.”

Naqvi also issued a stern warning to those allegedly involved in the campaign, asserting, “Do whatever you wish in collaboration with hostile foreign agencies. As for us, we will do whatever is necessary to make Pakistan strong again, InshAllah.”

The statement comes amid increased online speculation and political chatter, which analysts say may be part of a broader effort to create rifts within Pakistan’s power structure.
