Nation Salutes Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed on 67th Martyrdom Anniversary

RAWALPINDI, Aug 08 (Alliance News): Pakistan’s top military leadership and the Armed Forces paid glowing tribute on Thursday to Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, marking 67 years since he laid down his life in the line of duty.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major Tufail displayed matchless courage during a fierce clash with enemy forces in the Lakshmipur sector of erstwhile East Pakistan.

Despite being critically wounded, he fought on, leading his men from the front and accomplishing his mission — a feat that earned him the country’s highest military honour.

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu joined the nation in saluting the fallen hero.

The Armed Forces reaffirmed that Pakistan remains forever indebted to its martyrs, whose blood keeps the nation’s flag flying high.

“Their courage, sacrifice, and patriotism are a beacon for generations to come,” the ISPR statement said, vowing never to let their legacy fade away.
