Pakistan’s Young Programmers Shine Bright with 4 Bronze Medals at IOI 2025

ISLAMABAD, August 4 (Alliance News) – In a proud moment for the nation, four brilliant young minds from Pakistan clinched bronze medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025, held in Bolivia from July 27 to August 3.

Competing against 86 countries, Pakistan impressively ranked 32nd, outperforming several technologically advanced nations including Germany, France, Italy, and New Zealand.

The national team included Muhammad Aneeq, Ghulam Junaid, Muhammad Saram, and Ahmed Imran Malik—each securing a bronze medal and bringing international recognition to Pakistan’s emerging talent in computer science.

This marks a remarkable leap for the country, improving on last year’s 46th position with two bronze medals at IOI 2024 in Egypt.

The achievement is credited to the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), which was tasked by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training to organize Pakistan’s participation in IOI.

A rigorous and transparent selection process was undertaken through the Pakistan Olympiad in Informatics (POI), attracting 528 students nationwide.

Initial rounds of testing were held across 12 major centers including Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Islamabad, and Peshawar. The top 25 students advanced to the final round, leading to the selection of the four medal-winning champions.

This victory is not only a celebration of talent but also a powerful testament to Pakistan’s growing focus on STEM education and youth empowerment. It highlights the brilliance, determination, and competitive spirit of Pakistan’s youth in global technology arenas.

FBISE extended heartfelt congratulations to the medalists, their families, coaches, and supporting institutions, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing Pakistan’s future tech leaders.
