Petrol Prices Likely to Rise by Rs 6.60 Per Litre Amid Global Oil Surge

ISLAMABAD, July 14 (Alliance News): As global crude oil prices continue to climb, petrol and diesel rates in Pakistan are expected to increase by up to Rs 6.60 per litre for the next fortnight, sources revealed on Sunday.

According to reports, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has prepared a working paper proposing a hike of Rs 6.60 in petrol and Rs 5.27 in high-speed diesel prices.

The summary has been forwarded for approval, and the final decision will be announced after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gives the green light.

On the other hand, a reduction in the prices of kerosene and light diesel has been proposed. Kerosene may drop by Rs 3.74 per litre, while light diesel could see a cut of Rs 2.23 per litre.

The oil industry has already sent its recommendations to OGRA, which is now compiling a final summary to be sent to the government.

The revised prices of petroleum products will be officially notified after the Prime Minister’s approval.
