ISLAMABAD, July 30 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and enduring partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF) and appreciated its continued engagement with the country, especially through its annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland.
The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director and Member of the Managing Board of the WEF, who called on him in Islamabad.
Highlighting Pakistan’s recent economic recovery, Prime Minister Shehbaz briefed Zahidi on the government’s progress and reforms over the past few years. He conveyed Pakistan’s desire to further deepen cooperation with the WEF, particularly in areas such as economic development, gender inclusion, vocational training, and digitalization.
In response, Zahidi lauded Pakistan’s economic progress and acknowledged the reform measures initiated by the current government under the Prime Minister’s leadership. She also expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to her during the visit.
Both leaders reiterated their shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation to advance sustainable development and align Pakistan’s development priorities with global best practices promoted by the WEF.
