ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (Alliance News): President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday invited Austrian companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s growing information technology and tourism sectors, highlighting the country’s skilled human capital and untapped alpine tourism potential.
The president made these remarks during a farewell meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of Austria to Pakistan, Andrea Wicke, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
He praised Austria’s expertise in alpine tourism and said Pakistan offered attractive prospects for collaboration in this field.
“Pakistan’s pool of IT professionals continues to grow, and Austrian businesses can greatly benefit by investing in this sector,” President Zardari said, encouraging Austrian firms to take advantage of the young and skilled workforce in the country.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and mountainous regions, urging Austrian investment in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly tourism initiatives.
President Zardari appreciated Ambassador Wicke’s role in strengthening bilateral ties during her tenure and expressed hope for enhanced trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Austria.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan values its friendly relations with Austria and looks forward to deepening collaboration in various sectors.
The president also extended his best wishes to Ambassador Wicke for her future assignments and thanked her for her efforts in advancing bilateral engagement.
Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi was also present during the meeting.
