ISLAMABAD, Oct 4 (Alliance News): Pakistan’s Traversaal.ai team emerged victorious at the prestigious Meta APAC AI Accelerator Finals in Singapore, earning a $100,000 grant for their innovative virtual tutor project, which leverages Meta’s Llama technology.
The project offers high-quality educational resources in both English and Urdu, tackling the issue of educational inequality in Pakistan.
“This achievement showcases the immense talent within ‘Tech Destination Pakistan,’” read a message from Singapore on Friday.
Runners-up from Indonesia and New Zealand were also recognized, further cementing Pakistan’s growing reputation as a tech innovation leader in the global digital economy.
Minister of State for IT & Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja hailed the success, stating, “Traversaal.ai’s win highlights Pakistan’s growing role in AI innovation. The government’s commitment to fostering technological progress is yielding tangible results.”
Ignite CEO Adeel Aijaz Shaikh echoed similar sentiments, remarking that this victory showcases Pakistan’s potential to lead the AI sector globally.
Earlier this year, Pakistan hosted Asia-Pacific’s first Meta Llama Pitchathon, a landmark event that positioned “Tech Destination Pakistan” on the global AI innovation map.
The competition attracted 112 submissions, with seven teams shortlisted to pitch their projects before a distinguished panel.
