ISLAMABAD, April 10 (Alliance News): Pakistan is set to host the next phase of ceasefire negotiations between the United States and Iran, with high-level delegations arriving in Islamabad for talks that could shape the future of the Middle East.

The negotiations, facilitated by Pakistan, are being seen as a critical step toward establishing a new regional order, while also carrying significant political implications for the leaders heading the respective delegations.

The US team is expected to be led by Vice President JD Vance, while Iran will be represented by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

JD Vance, 41, has had a notable political rise. Born in Ohio, he gained national recognition through his memoir Hillbilly Elegy, which detailed his challenging upbringing marked by poverty and family struggles.

Initially a critic of President Donald Trump, Vance later aligned with him politically and went on to serve as a US senator before becoming vice president. Analysts believe his role in the Islamabad talks could influence his future political ambitions, including a potential presidential bid.

On the Iranian side, Qalibaf, a former Revolutionary Guard commander, is considered a key political figure with strong influence in both military and political circles. His leadership of the Iranian delegation comes at a time when several senior figures have been killed in recent conflict, increasing his prominence within the النظام.

Observers say Qalibaf’s performance in the Islamabad مذاکرات could strengthen his position domestically, with some analysts suggesting it may enhance his prospects for higher leadership roles in Iran.

The talks follow a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire aimed at reducing hostilities between Washington and Tehran. Diplomatic sources indicate that progress in Islamabad could pave the way for a broader peace framework in the region.

The مذاکرات are also being closely watched globally, as any breakthrough could have far-reaching implications for regional stability and international relations.
