Pakistan and Malaysia PMs Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Partnership

Islamabad, Oct 3 (Alliance News): Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held a one-on-one meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the long-standing, mutually beneficial partnership between both countries.

During the meeting, held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, the two leaders discussed a range of bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest, with a special focus on the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office, their discussions were meaningful and outcome-oriented.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Malaysia’s upcoming Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2025.

In response, Prime Minister Ibrahim welcomed Pakistan’s ongoing engagement with ASEAN as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner and expressed support for expanding Pakistan’s role in ASEAN.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of dialogue and high-level exchanges to set the future direction of bilateral relations.

They also highlighted the significance of platforms like the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) and Bilateral Consultations to strengthen cooperation and ensure tangible results.
