PM Shehbaz Sharif Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to Strengthening Ties with IAEA

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (Alliance News): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for peaceful applications of nuclear technology, benefiting both Pakistan and the global community.

During a meeting at the PM House, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and PM Shehbaz discussed nuclear technology’s role in cancer diagnostics and treatment, agriculture, food preservation, water management, and industry.

The prime minister commended the IAEA’s efforts in promoting nuclear energy as a sustainable solution for climate change mitigation.

PM Shehbaz highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding partnership with the IAEA since its founding and acknowledged the agency’s support in advancing nuclear power generation, healthcare, and industrial development.

The IAEA chief lauded Pakistan’s constructive engagement and reaffirmed continued collaboration in peaceful nuclear applications.
