ISLAMABAD, Sept 11 (Alliance News): Two UN flights carrying emergency medical supplies and relief supplies for the flood victims arrived at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Saturday.
According to a press release issued by the WHO, the shipment contained 15.6 tonnes of relief supplies, including cholera kits, water and multi-purpose tents known as medical tents.
Makeshift arrangements made by communities to connect villages on one side of the river to the main market. Similarly, #health facilities remain disconnected too. Among essential medicines, @WHO is also providing vehicles to assist #healthcare needs.@WHOEMRO

These relief items have been provided to Pakistan with the support of Dubai Government and International Humanitarian City (IHC).
“We are currently working with the Pakistani authorities to ensure access to medical facilities and supplies, reducing the risk of disease outbreaks,” said Dr Palitha Mahipala, WHO’s representative in Pakistan.

During visit to Maidan Hospital, #Swat, WHO Pakistan Representative Dr Palitha Mahipala gave polio drops to a child.
