WUM, Tamkin Foundation Forge Alliance to Empower Women Through Higher Education

ISLAMABAD, July 20 (Alliance News): Women University Mardan (WUM) and Morocco’s Tamkin Foundation have joined hands to promote women’s empowerment across the Islamic world through higher education, joint research, and academic exchange programs.

The initiative was launched during a high-level virtual meeting between Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor of WUM, and Dr. Abdelilah Kadili, President of the Tamkin Foundation.

The online session explored potential areas of collaboration such as joint research projects, academic conferences, and capacity-building workshops. A Letter of Intent (LoI) to formalize future cooperation is also under consideration.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Razia Sultana emphasized that education is a powerful tool for empowering women and fostering inclusive societies. She highlighted the potential of Pakistani women and underlined the importance of giving them access to international platforms for learning and leadership.

To facilitate the partnership, Haleema Ikram, Director of ORIC at WUM, has been designated as the focal person for coordination with the Tamkin Foundation.

The partnership reflects a growing trend of cross-border academic cooperation within the Muslim world, aiming to promote inclusive development and gender equality in higher education.
