PDMA Issues Alert as Monsoon Rains Lash Punjab Districts

ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (Alliance News): The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a weather alert following heavy monsoon rains in several districts of the province, including Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Director General PDMA has instructed all deputy commissioners to remain on high alert, urging the relevant departments to take proactive steps in case of any emergency. The provincial control room and district emergency operation centers across Punjab have also been fully activated.

The PDMA control room is monitoring the situation round-the-clock. Rescue 1122, WASA, and other emergency services have been directed to keep their personnel and machinery in a constant state of readiness.

According to PDMA, a fresh spell of monsoon rains is expected to continue until July 25. Authorities have advised citizens to stay away from electric poles, dangling wires, and flood-prone areas during the ongoing wet spell.

DG PDMA emphasized the importance of public caution and urged people to contact the authority in case of any emergency.
