Flag flies high as Pakistan embassy in Paris marks Independence Day

PARIS, Aug 14 (Alliance News): The Pakistan Embassy in Paris celebrated the country’s Independence Day with a flag hoisting ceremony, attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora, embassy officials, families, and children.

Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch raised the national flag to the tune of the anthem, followed by readings of messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister.

The event featured national songs, a documentary, and traditional Pakistani food.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Baloch paid tribute to the leaders and martyrs of the Pakistan Movement, as well as teachers, workers, farmers, scientists, and entrepreneurs who have contributed to the nation’s progress.

She expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their struggle for independence and lauded the armed forces for their courage during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and other defence efforts.

She also praised the Pakistani community in France for strengthening Pakistan-France ties and showcasing the country’s culture and values abroad.
