ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday held a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott at the Ministry of Interior, where both sides reaffirmed their resolve to deepen Pakistan–UK relations across a broad range of sectors.
Discussions focused on counterterrorism, counter-narcotics, border security, and human trafficking, with both officials agreeing to enhance joint efforts and strengthen cooperation in these critical areas.
High Commissioner Jane Marriott congratulated Mohsin Naqvi on being conferred the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz, lauding his leadership and extending best wishes for his future endeavors.
She also expressed condolences and solidarity with the people of Pakistan over the loss of lives caused by recent floods and heavy rains, offering sympathy to the bereaved families.
Interior Minister Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability, stating that the country strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms.
He highlighted Britain’s importance as a strategic partner, adding, “We wish to expand bilateral cooperation with the United Kingdom in all areas of mutual interest.”
The meeting highlighted the shared determination of Pakistan and the UK to strengthen collaboration not only in the field of security and law enforcement but also in political, economic, and humanitarian domains.
